Take the book quiz! Saw it on Treadmarks’ blog and couldn’t resist.
You’re To Kill a Mockingbird! by Harper Lee Perceived as a revolutionary and groundbreaking person, you have changed the minds of many people. While questioning the authority around you, you’ve also taken a significant amount of flack. But you’ve had the admirable guts to persevere. There’s a weird guy in the neighborhood using dubious means to protect you, but you’re pretty sure it’s worth it in the end. In the end, it remains unclear to you whether finches and mockingbirds get along in real life. Take the Book Quiz at the Blue Pyramid.
OK, I got tagged by my friend Treadmarks. And while some people don’t like getting tagged for memes, I have to say that I’m pretty excited. What can I say? It makes me feel loved.
So, if you are new to blog world and don’t know what a meme is, you can check out this earlier post where I explained it.
Here Are The Rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
A few of my random facts are very similar to Treadmarks’ (see her post here). Maybe that’s one reason we’re friends. And also, I have to give much thanks to my hubby, who did the typing while I did the talking. Typing with a newborn in my arms doesn’t work too well, which I why I never update my blog anymore…bummer. OK, here we go:
1. I once read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix straight through. That may not seem weird to other Harry Potter readers, but my husband says it’s weird because I was reading for 26 hours.
2. I would love to write a book about the attributes of God, but not a boring theology book. It would be structured more like Blue Like Jazz or something interesting like that.
3. I had stick straight hair until I hit puberty and then it turned curly. It used to be super curly, but now that I’m getting older it’s getting straighter again. Makes it hard to stick with one hair product, I tell ya.
4. I’m a really good speller. I won the school spelling bee in 4th grade, and placed second at the district level. I guess I was a bit of a nerd. This could’ve been me: ouch
5. In my living room there is a papasan chair that my father gave me when I was in 7th grade. The original cushion was pink, as were my curtains and bedspread at the time. The current one is now ecru, but the frame of the chair is original. Who knew that a papasan chair could last 18 years and counting?
6. For most of my life, I wanted to be a musical theatre star. I made my theatrical debut in second grade as Amelia Bedelia, and I got to sing about making lemon merengue pie. I rocked.
7. I basically don’t have favorites. No favorite movie, or favorite food, or faborite book, or anything like that, because I just can’t decide. The exception might possibly be that I think my favorite color might be red. Sure makes it hard in those icebreakers where you have to name your favorite whatever. I hate those.
8. I’m not quite sure why, but whenever Kelly Clarkson is on the radio, I just can’t turn the station. She’s just so cheesy and over-dramatic, but somehow she sucks me in every time.
Alright - now I am supposed to tag eight people. The problem is, I don’t think I know eight people with blogs. Let’s see….. How about Jeni, Heather, Caryn….. uh, I think that’s all I’ve got. Well, I know a few others but Treadmarks tagged them. So that will have to do. ![]()
OK, I should be napping but I can’t resist posting these pictures of my little one. You’ve never seen a cuter baby. (And if you have, don’t tell me about it.) Hubby took them; I cannot claim credit.
Also, I added a new page - on the tabs above, you will now see one that says, “Birth Story.” I decided it was too long for a post, so it got its own page. If you want all the gory details, that’s the place to find ‘em. And there is another really cute picture there of Baby, too.
OK, enjoy!
